About the Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland (NGIQ)

Our Role
The Nursery & Garden Industry Queensland (NGIQ) was formed in 1934 as a professional body for growers and sellers of quality plants. It has since expanded to provide the only representative forum for the entire nursery industry - production and retail nurseries, garden centres, allied traders and service providers.

NGIQ’s aim is to help foster the growth of responsible enterprises and to provide a range of relevant and cost-effective services to business. NGIQ provides Technical, Industrial and Commercial services to members, keeping them up to date on what's happening now and providing advice on future trends. This is an invaluable aid to the operation of your business.

NGIQ works hard to ensure the business view is represented in the public and political arena. As the voice of business, NGIQ has done much to influence government policy and to keep public debate focused on key business issues, which are often overlooked or marginalised by politicians and special-interest groups. NGIQ does collectively for business and industry what individual firms could not achieve alone.

You can only be of influence if you are part of the system.

Committees
Management of NGIQ rests with an Executive and Management Committee elected from the membership. The Committees meets regularly and are always ready and available to discuss relevant issues with members. Members of these Committees are generally volunteers from within NGIQ or invited from other specialist groups. View our committees.

Branch and General Meetings
Communication with members is achieved through Branch meetings in the Brisbane, North Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Wide Bay, Townsville and Cairns areas. Specialist groups also meet under the auspices of the NGIQ. View our branch listing.
