About NGIQ

The NGIQ, through its antecedent bodies, was formed in 1934 as a professional body for growers and sellers of quality plants. It has since expanded to provide the only representative forum for the entire nursery industry - production and retail nurseries, garden centres and allied traders.

NGIQ provides Technical, Industrial and Commercial services to its members keeping them up to date on what's happening now and providing advice on future trends. This is an invaluable aid to the operation of your business.

By joining NGIQ you ensure that your business has a loud voice when dealing with Government and other organisations. With the current trend of Governments towards self regulation of industry and the inherent involvement of Associations like NGIQ in the regulatory process, the benefit of membership by all nurseries and allied trades in this peak industry body will become increasingly obvious.

You can only be of influence if you are part of the system.

Bullet Branch and General Meetings - communication with members is achieved through Branch meetings in the Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Wide Bay, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns areas. Specialist groups also meet under the auspices of the NGIQ.

Bullet Management of NGIQ - rests with an Executive and Management Committee elected from the membership. The Committees meet regularly to determine NGIQ Policy. Members of these Committees are generally volunteers from within NGIQ or invited from other specialist groups.

Bullet Staff - the day to day affairs of NGIQ are handled by a full time staff of 5 based at Salisbury. The staff will be happy to receive your enquiry or answer your questions. Phone contact is during office hours (0830 - 1630) - Click here for our contact details.
