One of the most valuable attributes of a greenhouse is the opportunity to manage the internal environment to achieve optimal crop productivity. Energy is a critical component in this objective and is increasingly one of the key factors in greenhouse profitability. The aim of this project was to make it easier for greenhouse growers to reduce costs and carbon emissions and to make better energy (heating) investment decisions. This was achieved by giving growers easy to use and reliable tools for finding ways to save energy and by evaluating and demonstrating the cost to benefit of alternate energy systems.
