Do you operate a home handyman maintenance service?

Queensland Health has contacted NGIQ to remind members that pest control activities conducted by home handyman and lawn maintenance services require a licence.

Typical examples of pest control activities relevant to our industry include garden maintenance and care involving the use of a pesticide to control pests at domestic or commercial premises as part of a business activity. Licensable pest control activities are governed under the Pest Management Act 2001. The Act describes a pest as an arthropod, bird, mollusc or rodent. A pest control activity includes the preparation of pesticides or using a pesticide to kill, stupefy or repel a pest; inhibit feeding of a pest or modify the physiology of a pest.
